Real City Connection: Oct. 23-26

Giving you the best of Montreal’s Urban community!

Here’s a look at some Urban events happening in our city this weekend!

Don’t miss the 13th edition of Beaux Dégâts (Beautiful Mess), an event dedicated primarily to street art and Artists. This Art mash up brings to life the artistic creations of six (6) teams of Artists who will battle it out at Foufounes Electriques on Sainte Catherine for the most votes from the audience.

How does one vote? Well, that’s an interesting part! Each team has a waste basket and people simply drop their sponsored cans into the waste basket of their choice! Very creative! Whichever team has an overflow of cans (or the most) wins! However, the losing teams have to endure the winning team tampering with/doing whatever they want to/destroying, their work in front of the live audience. Kinda sucks, so DON’T LOSE!

Great Halloween starter and an all around fun, creative time with music galore! Show starts at 7 pm!

So check out the bilingual event page for more details!

Cost: $5 at the door

CKUT Keep It Locked

Fellow Montreal radio station CKUT celebrates another year in radio with their annual funding drive. This year’s theme is Keep It Locked (Restez Branché) and it kicks off on Thursday October 24th (12 pm to 12 am) until Sunday November 3rd. The event was created with the community in mind as each person that donates will stand to win unpredictable prizes and depending on the amount of money one donates, he/she may be entered into a grand prize draw to win even bigger gifts! People are urged to donate online (from anywhere in the world), by calling in or dropping by in person to the CKUT station at McGill University.

CKUT 90.3 FM supports various communities in Montreal through broadcasting and covering events on topical issues and is maintained mostly by passionate volunteers. So go ahead, stop by the event and DONATE!

Pipe Calderon

For all my latinos, latinas and general Reggaeton lovers, Agenda Social Magazine, Von J Group & Urban Heat are putting on a Halloween party to remember starring Reggaeton heartthrob, Pipe Calderon at Pure Nightclub!

The event page gives you all the details, but for my non-latinos/latinas, Google Translate will be your friend as the page is solely in Spanish.

So let me break it down for you:

Cost: $30 (General), $50 (VIP)!

VIP enters exclusively at 6 pm to take pictures with Colombian native Pipe Calderon, get their autographs and spend quality time with the singer before the show.

Doors open to the general public at 7 pm! Local artists take to the stage at 8 pm, and then Pipe Calderon and DJ Alexander perform at 9 pm!

Yup, that year in Colombia sure did come in handy with this one! Viva Colombia! 🙂

Wait! I’m not done! There’s more!
