Montreal

Giving you the best of Montreal’s Urban community!

Here’s a look at some Urban events happening in our city this weekend!

THURSDAY

HHKMTLOct HHKMTLOct(2)

It’s October’s edition of Hip Hop Karaoke Montreal coming to you on Thursday, the 17th! Last month’s edition was so amazing, I just had to suggest it again!

This month’s theme is EAST COAST vs. WEST COAST, so who you reppin’? I can’t choose! Biggie, Jay Z AND Snoop (Dogg, not Lion)! Am I allowed?

As usual, the action takes place at Le Belmont (4483 St. Laurent Boulevard).

Doors open at 10 pm: $5 BEFORE 11 pm, $10 AFTER

Host DSHADE will do what he does so well, supporting the performers and leaving the audience in stitches. DJ SHASH’U is also sure to wow the crowd with his incredible beats.

For more information, check out the event page or the HHKMTL website!

I can already hear the chants, “HH! K! What? HH! K! What? HH! K!” #letsgo 🙂

Sponsors: MOOG Audio, Indecent Xposure, CJLO and WESC

SATURDAY

1.

Montreal Unite

Montreal United is an Open Mic event where rappers, singers or anyone who thinks they have talent that deserves exposure, gets to perform on stage.

Held at Piranha Bar, the cozy space offers performers a comfortable atmosphere to leave it all on stage without judgment (one would hope).

Just pay $5 at the door and you’ll have a chance to perform, but make sure you get to the venue before 10 pm to be guaranteed a spot on stage through registration. After that, if there’s time, then unregistered performers may have a chance to show their skills.

See Montreal United’s event page for more details!

Showtime: 9 pm

2.

Ariel & les va-nu-pieds at M Montreal

Also on Saturday, in the theme of live music, barefoot, french band Ariel & les va-nu-pieds is performing at snazzy hotel M Montreal.

The event kicks off at 10 pm!

If you’re looking for something a bit different within the urban community, check out the band’s fusion of sounds as they’ll have you swaying to the harmonious rhythms of the drums, bass, keys, saxophones, trombone, trumpet, guitar and smooth vocals.

Come kick off your shoes, meet new people and do it all for FREE! But hey, at least buy a drink or two!

The Our City Radio Montreal Urban team supports urban events happening in our city, so if you can, show your support too and spread the word!

You may just see the team there! 🙂

Let us know what’s happening in the city on Facebook and Twitter and we’ll definitely help to get the word out!
